The Robert Rüdger collection – produced by Area98 – pays homage to the classic spectacles frame. Clean lines, classic colours, warm tones for timelessly frames. The RR024 style stands for extreme elegance. With a panto shape and keyhole bridge, this all-wood model has the a slightly elongated rim top. The frame front and temples display a two-tone effect created through the use of different kinds of wood, a sign of exceptional manufacturing expertise.
ROBERT RÜDGER | Towards the end of the 1980s three established Austrian designers, Robert Hüttmann, Rudi Himmelfreundpointner and Gerhard Lahner, on the strength of the experience gained in creating eyewear collections for famous fashion brands, felt the need to bring about a radical change in their creative lives and on the eyewear scene of that time. Therefore in 1989 they created the Robert Rüdger brand with something never seen before until that time on the market: the first brand of eyewear frames totally made in Austria.
The Robert Rüdger collections immediately made their mark thanks to the extravagant colours of the frames, made in acetate combined with metal. The eccentric palette combined with easily wearable shapes then helped the rapid expansion of the success of this Austrian-made eyewear to the German, Swiss and Dutch markets. As from 2004 the brand was taken over by Rudi Himmelfreundpointner and with him, in 2014, Area98 signed a twenty-year licensing agreement for the Robert Rüdger brand, for which, alongside Himmelfreundpointner, himself, it was to handle design, production and distribution worldwide.
