August 2016 – For the first time Budri, Italian Marble Inlay Atelier, will take part at Silmo (Paris, 23-26 September 2016) inside the Village, the area that showcases the most innovative products and trendy brands. Patricia Urquiola, the patroness par excellence of Budri’s debut in the eyewear world, has designed the booth.

The brand will present the innovative project Budri Eyewear, developed thanks to in-depth research leading to the unique patented production technology that makes the material unbelievably light. Budri’s excellent craftsmanship, together with the know-how and great expertise of some of the most influential names among the eyewear scene, gave life to this first collection of four models of glasses and sunglasses in ten different variants of marble and semi-precious stones.

The exclusive installation designed by Patricia Urquiola with elements from the Papiro Collection – an excellent expression of the concept of lightness in marble – will be the perfect scene to enhance the eyewear range, in a 48 m2 space at the Paris exhibition. Inlaid curved slabs, only 0.8 mm thick, will give shape and colour to the stand, alternating particular multicolour graphic patterns and majestic decorative panels.

Lightness is the common thread of design evolution in marble workmanship, transforming the rare and valuable material from a slab to a paper-thin surface that guarantees eyewear’s perfect fit. Each item is therefore unique and encapsulates the know-how, an age-old art and skills that are so significant as they transcend fashion and trends.

The Budri Eyewear collection will be available from December 2016, with a direct and highly selective distribution worldwide.
